We all need the hyper productive busy bodies that are going to plow the fields with every last ounce of energy they have.

BUT.

We need the lazy ones too. The smart-lazy ones of course, not the dumb-lazy. Why?

I’m lazy. But it’s lazy people who invented the wheel and the bicycle because they didn’t like walking or carrying things.”

 

Wise words from the late great Lech Walesa. It also sums up the crux of this talk. The need to be smart-lazy in a world where legacy thinking is the norm in many organizations, where traditional methods and mindsets are clung to for dear life.

Innovation doesn’t happen when we start doing something new, it’s when we start doing something old. 

The lazy ones have the guts to question the status quo. “Why the hell are we still walking when we could be saving our energy and getting there quicker?”. Don’t you think you need these kinds of questions being asked in your business today?
